Well, I guess I'll begin with an introduction.
Hi there, names Jacob Ritter, but you can call me Chewie, as in Chewbacca. I'm a New Media student looking to one day work in the video game industry. So I thought for my capstone that I'd do a 30 second to 1 minute 3D short.
To me personally I believe the capstone for New Media atleast isn't really just something we have to do just so we can graduate. To me it's more of a defining piece of our skills. When employers are looking for someone to hire, an excellent capstone is something that puts your foot in the door and show off our talents. I also think that we should start our capstones atleast a year before we graduate. This would give us plenty of time to get things working and polished off. Feeling rushed on a major project while still attending class everyday can put a lot of unneeded pressure on yourself, so having plenty of time to work on it relieves some of that pressure.
The basis for my idea at the moment is a fight scene of some sort. I'm not %100 attached to the idea. I know I definently want to do something in 3D.
A few ideas of what I'm planning to do:
http://www.vimeo.com/tokyoplastic/videos This is a good archive of all sorts of videos. If I do not do a fight scene then some of these would be a good idea of what I want to do.

I do plan on having weapons and sound in my video. I want it to to as polished as I can get it and having sound I think will add a nice effect to it. Thats about all I have at the moment. I plan on doing alot of planning on this and hopefully begin on the modeling soon.
